The Project
The project consisted of repairing, restoring and extending two Victorian villas and converting them into a modern dementia care home.
The work involved restoration of the highly ornate external joinery, reconstruction and repair of the decorated stone porches, waterproofing the basement to create a plant room, fire prevention and alarm measures, installation of lifts and specialist bathroom equipment, substantial extensions to the front and rear and wide ranging repair and restoration throughout.
Today Byron House Care Home comfortably accommodates 27 dementia care patients each with their own private rooms finished to a very high specification as well as a warm, light and welcoming communal area with views to the wheelchair friendly gardens.
