The Build
The project involved extending the cottage to create a more practical and contemporary layout for a growing family. The work included significantly enlarging the kitchen, hallway, and sitting room, as well as adding a new master bedroom with ensuite.
Located in a conservation area, it was essential that the design and materials respected the local character. A major structural challenge involved the safe installation of several large steel beams, which required precise temporary works to support the existing building during construction. This complex phase was managed carefully to ensure structural integrity and safety.
The property’s exterior was modernised with Monocouche render, along with new doors and windows to enhance both energy efficiency and aesthetics. Throughout, the Saunders Brothers team maintained exceptional quality and attention to detail.
