RENOVATIONS & LISTED
Listed period house
Long, Crendon, Buckinghamshire
modern extension to listed building
Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire
The significant extension and refurbishment of this five bedroom home was undertaken in two stages.
Phase one was to create a contemporary, curved kitchen extension and the second phase was a light refurbishment to all rooms plus a new solid oak staircase.
All materials were chosen to complement the period of the house including lime render walls. The new fibreglass flat roof was detailed to present the appearance of lead, to the satisfaction of the conservation officer.
All windows, doors, and the large bi-folding doors were made by the Saunders Brother's team using only the best UK locally sourced oak timber.
Because the property was going to be occupied throughout the build Saunders Brothers set up a temporary kitchen for the client to make life easier for them.
“We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the excellent work Saunders Brothers carried out, building our kitchen extension in 2013. There was good liaison between Saunders Bros, the Architect and Planning throughout. We are delighted with the quality of the work and with the reliability and professionalism of the Saunders Bros team. You did an excellent job, completing the build on budget and on schedule.
On site, we were impressed by your team and by your plumbing, electrical, tiling and decorating subcontractors and personnel who worked very hard, arriving first thing every morning, working hard and clearing up at the end of each day. We appreciate the good advice you gave us on a couple of decisions that were needed. You kept us fully informed all the way through to how the costs were going.
We would be happy to recommend Saunders Bros. as a reliable, professional and competitive building firm.”
